Title: 2006 EPA M2M Grant: Pre-Feasibility Study for Converting Landfill Gas to
Liquefied Natural Gas for Fueling Refuse Trucks and Buses in India
Objectives:
Landfill gas to LNG will reduce methane emissions from the landfill, reduce refuse
truck emissions by providing a cleaner burning fuel, improve the energy security
of India by making it less reliant on conventional diesel, and boost economic
growth by adding job opportunities at landfills that use this process.

Project Title: Ahmadabad
- Landfill Methane Prefeasibility Study and Capacity Building
Project
Description: The U.S. EPA met with municipal officials and collected site
data to evaluate the technical feasibility and the institutional and political
framework of capturing and using methane gas at the landfill. The site was selected
for a pump test evaluation Objectives: U.S. EPA conducted a pump test at the
landfill and prepared a pre-feasibility study based on site-specific landfill
data.

Title: Deonar-Landfill Methane Prefeasibility Study and Capacity Building
Project
Description: The U.S. EPA met with municipal officials and collected site
data to evaluate the technical feasibility and the institutional and political
framework of capturing and using methane gas at the Deonar Landfill. The site
was selected for a pump test evaluation.
Objectives: U.S. EPA conducted
a pump test at the landfill and prepared a pre-feasibility study based on site-specific
landfill data. This study will be available on the Methane to Markets Web site
and presented at the 2007 Partnership Expo.

Methane Assessment Report and Capacity Building
Project

Landfill gas Workshop as part of M2M Cross Sector Workshop with Coal, Oil and
Gas
Project Description: Introduction
of the partnership for the other sectors, increase awareness of and facilitate
the development of landfill gas to energy projects, and presentations on M2M and
technical aspects of LFG projects such as collection systems and gas models.
